The American Writer Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, is remembered above all as the creator of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, characters that have become part of the world's folklore and mythology. In his remarkably varied works, Mark Twain loves poking fun at entrenched institutions and traditions. He also kept returning to a theme which fed his imagination throughout his life: his memories of an ideal world, as experienced during childhood and youth.
