“ROMY” scores impressive ratings in Germany

Munich, 12 Nov. 2009. Beta Film’s ROMY has garnered top prime time ratings in Germany. The high budget TV movie about the legendary actress Romy Schneider was watched by 5.3 million viewers (market share: 16.7%) on public broadcaster ARD and scored better than RTL’s “Supernanny” with 3.4 million, Pro Sieben’s new episode of “Desperate Housewives” (2.4 million) and Vox’s new episode of “Criminal Intent” (2.5 million).

ROMY stars Jessica Schwarz, who achieved international celebrity through Tom Tykwer's "Perfume – The Story of a Murderer." Also starring are Thomas Kretschmann (“The Pianist”, “Valkyrie”) and Guillaume Delorme as Alain Delon, director is Torsten C. Fischer. The film on the life and myth of Romy Schneider, who conquered the hearts of millions playing the Austrian empress “Sissi”, was produced by Phoebus Film in coproduction with SWR, WDR, ARD Degeto, ORF, NDR and BETA in association with France Television.
