Cedar Cove rules American cable prime time with 2nd season premiere

Munich, 19 July 2014. Andie MacDowell's Cedar Cove has kicked off its second season as prime time winner on US broadcaster Hallmark Channel. During the 8-9 pm slot the first episode reached 1.7 million viewers (1.4 mio households) on Saturday night, making it not only the top scorer under all viewers but in addition # 1 in Cedar Cove's acclaimed target group of women from 25-54. The start of season two scored therefore the second best rating in the series' history and a 26% increase over the season one average. Next to TV viewers took social media by storm, making Cedar Cove the 2nd most Tweeted about program on TV for the night according to Nielsen.

Based on Debbie MacomberĀ“s best-selling novels the show follows Judge Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell), considered as the community's guiding light in the picturesque, coastal town of Cedar Cove in the US North-West. But like everyone else, Olivia fights the uphill battle of balancing career with family and finding love, all while doing her best to care for the township she calls home.
