Andie MacDowell’s „Cedar Cove“ top new drama of the summer

Munich, 22 July 2013. Beta Film's starpower driven new series Cedar Cove starring Hollywood icon Andie MacDowell has captured the hearts of the viewers on Hallmark Channel with a "burst of sunshine" (Channel Guide) as one of this summer's top new drama's. On its debut on Saturday night, Cedar Cove became the #1-rated ad-supported cable movie of the week and day, attracting over 3.8 million unduplicated viewers. The premiere and its first three encores combined reached even 6.6 million viewers, many of them women between 25-54 years. The pilot of the 14xone hour series, set in the idyllic town of Cedar Cove in the American Northwest, ranked #3 on cable among households so far this summer, outperforming debuts episodes of renown shows such as "The Bridge" (Fox) or "Twisted" (ABC Family) and boosting Hallmark Channel to be the #2 rated cable network in Prime Time for the day among households. Also on social media, millions of fans discussed and chattered about the love and life of judge Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell) and Jack Griffith (Dylan Neal), the new editor of the Cedar Cove Chronicle.

Cedar Cove, based on the bestselling novels of Debbie Macomber, will be one of Beta Film's highlights during this fall's MipCom in Cannes. It is produced by Orchard Road Production in co-production with Front Street Pictures / Dan Wigutow and Unity / for Hallmark Channel U.S. Showrunner is Carl Binder ("Dr. Quinn," "Medicine Woman").
