Rommel concers German prime time

Munich, 2 Nov 2012. The media praised event TV movie Rommelabout Hitler’s desert fox has conquered the prime time in Germany. On public channel ARD Rommel was watched by 6.4 million viewers (market share: 19 %). Especially the younger audience (14-49 years) was thrilled by the controversial film that casts a new light on this popular wartime figure with a market share of almost 13 percent, high above the ARD’s average on this slot. Ulrich Tukur (“The Lives of Others,” “John Rabe”) plays the German Field Marshal, who was in command of the Western front in 1944 at the time of the Allied invasion, and was forced by Hitler to commit suicide for allegedly taking part in a conspiracy. The TV movie (1 x 90’) was produced by teamWorx, SWR, Degeto, BR and ORF in association with Beta Film.
