Strong North American premiere of Beta Film’s KING

Munich, 19 April 2011. The primetime premiere of the unconventional crime series KING on Showcase/Global has delivered extraordinary ratings on its North American premiere last Sunday. KING, starring Amy Price-Francis (“24,” “Californication”), got the highest series premiere result of the channel this season, despite strong competition from NHL Playoff Hockey Game, “Desperate Housewives”, “Celebrity Apprentice” and “The Kennedys”. Ratings were up to 26 percent above channel average, making it the No 2 prime time drama on cable channels on premiere nights in total.
Jess KING (first season 8 x 1h), head of the Major Crimes Task Force, steps in when the cops from the ordinary police force are stumped. Murder, rape, robbery, gang violence and serial crime – KING sees things that everyone else misses, says what she thinks, and never stops thinking. KING is an Indian Grove Production, world sales are handled by Beta Film.
