Gorgeous music, high emotion, terrific stagings, tremendous sceneries, glamouros and brillant performances of opera's biggest stars– produced in the premier operahouses of Italy, the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Teatro Verdi di Busseto and others. "Tutto Verdi" will captivate your senses! „This is how Verdi should be played!" (says the respected Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung).

Giuseppe Verdi is without question one of the greatest composers in history.  On the basis of his immense body of work from "Oberto" to "Falstaff" you can follow the history of opera in the 19th century. The name Verdi is synonymous with Italian opera. He emotes feelings, he made change between scene and aria less rigid and he had a prodigious sense for thrilling dramatic art. The musician Verdi set new standards for the opera. The politician Verdi supported unions and national independence; the chorus of The Hebrew Slaves became the secret national anthem of Italy.
Giuseppe Verdi was born in the little town of Le Roncole in the vicinity of Parma – though he celebrated his greatest triumphs in Milan, Venice, Naples and other cities – Verdi spent the longest period in his life in seclusion near Parma until his death in Milan in 1901. Today Parma honors its greatest citizen with the internationally acclaimed Verdi Festival organized by the Teatro Regio di Parma.  Every year, Verdi's masterworks are performed in the historical theaters of Parma (Teatro Regio and unique Teatro Farnese) and neighboring Busseto during 28 days each Fall. The Teatro Regio was opened during Verdi's lifetime, in 1829, as the Nuovo Teatro Ducale. It is regarded as one of the most important theaters in Italy. Its audiences enjoy a reputation for being the most critical in the world. Many singers describe the fear that grips them while on stage, while others describe moments of pure bliss as they achieve acclaim. It is said that tenors who fail on the stage of The Regio are punished by the porters of the hotels, who refuse to carry their luggage! On the occasion of the 200th birthday of Giuseppe Verdi, the Teatro Regio di Parma and Unitel Classica combined to create this truly unique project "Tutto Verdi"!
