Andris Nelsons and Yefim Bronfman at the Lucerne Festival

"What a find," writes The Wall Street Journal about the dazzling young
conductor Andris Nelsons, who appears here with pianist Yefim Bronfman in
Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, which follows a lively rendering of
Beethoven's "The Ruins of Athens" Overture. The second major work of the
concert is Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade", a spectacularly
colorful symphonic suite that was inspired by the tales of the Arabian
Nights. Commenting on the quality of the orchestra, a Spanish journalist
wrote: "Tonight I had the impression that the Concertgebouw truly is the
best orchestra in the world".
